You're 100 percent correct about the stress factors there and the evident lack of meaningful training. All of the 'Epic Cop Life' gear on the officers taking cover tells its own story, from the bracelets, red dots, and gun light benefit little. Battleships are safe at dock but that's not their purpose. The plainclothes officer was the hero but he was taking a huge risk. I'll disagree with you on only one point: unarmed lanyard guy would have picked up the gun and fought the shooter if the hero officer got capped. And it all would have been over by the time, the uniformed cops broke cover. Great closing too. Let's get back to real leadership and some 90's tactics.
