Early reporting gets them "in the system", and helps quantify the real threat. There has been widespread downplaying and outright denial over the last few years about the extent of terrorist threat we face internal to the US, and many incidents are overlooked or not reported, contributing to a skewed view of the threat level by national and some state agencies. Keith, you've been consistently sounding the alarm on a more accurate (I believe) threat level - thank you for your continued excellent work!
