Failure to top... head or hip joints! I use a DI AR 10mm Auto with an 8" barrel. Hits at 100yd about the same as a 40S&W at the muzzle and accurate enoguh to make the needed accruate hits.

I used the lower of a CMMG Banshee Mk10. It runs the Glock mags all day long.
Search for Macon Armory in Macon, GA. They specialize in DI AR PCC setups. He lists the good lowers that actually work.
FYI... love the 10mm and have several other pistols in that caliber. But if suppression is a priority highly consider a DI 45 ACP. The reason is standard 45 ammo including all the good defensive ammo is already subsonic and those bullets are designed to expand at those velocities. So you don't have subsonic and a different supersonic loading.
Thanks for the info. I'm a big fan of the 10mm. I built a Glock 20. On my limited budget it took a long time to gather the parts. Also love the 1911 in 45. Trying to gather parts for a Glock 21 also. Just takes time but a 10mm carbine would jump to the top of the priority list if I can get a lower.

I've been wanting to build an AR in 10mm but I haven't been able to find a stripped lower that takes Glock mags.

I've messed around with various manufactures etc on this and Rudy at Macon Armory was the only one who called a spade a spade when needed.
Here is his current recommended 10mm Glock mag compatible lowers from his website:
