So good information. It does seem this had nothing to do with the current threat to churches, just a guy that was out of his mind. I don’t like red flags laws but maybe some should have made a call. I am willingly to bet the safety team probably watched your videos!!

My suggestion, in these times, is to be aware of copy cats who may want to accept the challenge of defeating a security team, while willing to commit suicide to do so. Thanks Keith for the report.

Thanks, Keith. To everyone out there RE having a long arm available to meet a threat w a long arm, please go watch the video of the assailant who came into a church in Dallas 2 or 3 yrs ago (I think it was Joel Osteen 's church). It shows armed and uniformed security cowering behind cover and it was an off duty TX officer who engaged and took down the threat who was armed w an AR style weapon w 300 rounds on their person.

It does not give you coverage in all 50 states. I live and serve in a church security team in one of those non covered states.

How do you recommend we get insurance coverage in the State of Washington when the Office of Insurance Commissioner has ruled that it cannot be sold here.

Attorneys On Retainer is not an insurance and works in all 50 states I believe. They are the ones I use. Good luck and I pray you never need to use it.

Keith, Thank you for your hard work and keeping us informed. There is one issue you need to correct: "That’s why I recommend Right To Bear. For $180/year, it gives you criminal and civil liability coverage in all 50 states". Right To Bear covers legal defense in criminal and civil trials, they do NOT cover civil liability. I just finished a lengthly text with them. They said,"Just keep in mind, any financial damages in civil cases are your responsibility." I know you don't like USCCA; but they cover $2M in civil liability.... Folks need to know what they are getting and what they are not. Civil liability damages are major since our society has a large anti-second amendment population and the left seems to want to punish our citizens and help criminals avoid prosecution.

Keith, when I researched RTB insurance I couldn’t get a copy of their contract even after asking for it from a company rep. Do you have a copy that you could share? Thanks, I’m a current AOR member but realize there is no perfect solution.

Hi Keith. The police department released a video of someone on the security team pretty much hiding out the entire time of the shooting. As you have advised, our security team has made a pact to go to the sound of the gunfire and not hold back. Can you provide a comment on the police video and that security team member's actions and any opportunity for improvement?

Thanks so much for your insights.

Absolutely great information and advice. I would add that it would be beneficial if the church/congregation added pri-proof mechanisms to doors.

Many of the unguarded exterior doors that I see on buildings could easily be pried open with a pri bar. A locked door does not necessarily mean a secure door.
