We as Christians are instructed to obey government; however, when government goes against God, we are instructed to obey God, not the government. The 10 words (commandments) tell us that we must not worship any other gods over our God. Most people think that the commandment says “Thou shall not kill “ means that we should allow the government to kill us if we don’t obey the government orders. This is far from the case. The commandment actually says that we should not murder. This is way different than fighting a tyrannical government. The Bible says that we are to trade our cloak to buy a sword. It also says that he who lives by the sword dies by the sword; I see this as saying that we must be obedient to God’s word above all else and if the government tries to punish Christianity, we as Christians must take a stand against the Government. God also instructs us to protect each other as mentioned when the Bible asks “am I my brother’s keeper?”

I hope there is a peaceful solution where the citizens can sit down and say “Enough is enough!” We also have a duty to protect ourselves and each other if talking doesn’t work. I would rather have God tell me “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” I want to avoid bowing down to tyrants who want people to renounce Christianity.

I just watched the sermon and I want to say that it was wonderful. It said the same thing I was trying to say in my rant (above).
