Regarding the handwritten Gospel of St John.... Interesting and strange, but based on general knowledge of the culture, this may have been produced and "randomly" mailed as a chain-letter superstitious obligation of some sort. One possibility.
Any more info you can share on the McHenry County incident? Our church is in McHenry County but I haven't heard anything nor can I find any references to this incident (other than you, of course). Thanks!
