Over 40 years ago, I was with 40 other women from our Baptist church in another town at a retreat. One of those women in an abusive marriage was brought by our pastor's wife to the retreat center empty except for our group. Her drunk husband was sober enough to drive 50 miles to that retreat at 4 AM and threaten all of us with his pistol if we did not produce his wife. She had been escorted out a back door and was hiding in the woods. The rest of us ẁere trapped in the living room praying and singing as he marched through the building yelling for his wife. One of my roommates managed to escape our building and run barefoot through the snow to alert our speaker and use the ONE phone in camp to call police. During this time, one woman had his pistol held to her stomach and another to her head. He drove off the property before the police arrested him. He was still charged with kidnapping all of us even though he was off the premises.(Which I believe God ordained.) No one carried a firearm back then. No one realized how great, how quick a threat could materialize. We were all still foggy from sleep. As I reflect on that incident today I would be certain we had security in place. In fact retreats that I host today, my firearm instructor is always present, publicly getting an account of "who is packing." Threats can come from anywhere, can happen anywhere.
Shirley, the Lord definitely intervened that night. Do you mind talking to me about that incident off-line? I would love to use it as a teaching experience for others.
Hey Keith. Good information. There is something I don’t see you ever talk about. You have to be ready to shoot someone in your mind, I have people that can shoot both in the army and police and I have seen peolple freeze when it came firing their sidearm. Of course I work in San Francisco and some police officers were afraid of get ting sued. When in the army I was in a couple of fire fights and knew I could pull the trigger when I went into the PD. Over my career three OIC’ s only one lawsuit. I am sure you knew what it takes to take a life. I have also seen cops that were in shootings. Leave the department within a couple of weeks
So what I am saying maybe you should do a video on whar happens to your mind when you pull the trigger and how you have be prepared.

I'm learning a lot here AND passing to my new church without a http://relpy.So Father gave me a contact person that is reading these hopefully will bring this in front of the leadership. I'm praying for boldness for this wonderful man that is willing to serve as a protector by God's calling.
But as one that has been going to shooting ranges and renting starting to look for a gun to be as a protector of my home, I cannot imagine being able to be on the safety team to actually shoot a evil person coming to attack the innocent worshippers! So this video will help BUT GOD. has me praying for our churches in my area regularly. If God calls me - I will obey, I don't see this as my area of service, yet. So please give this subject of actually shooting to kill or mame an attacker a priority as young men and older need encouragement in their holy calling of being a man for safety team at churches. USEFUL AND POTENTIAL IS ENORMOUS- Eventually this should be shared with local police, contract security used in the church and administrators. If this data base grows and other churches around the nation share their data we could eventually see a real time 24 hour intelligence bundle from east to west coast.
