We are not all called for the same purpose (other than to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ). Protecting the sheep from physical harm is only one aspect of being an undershepherd. If hearing about violence around the world, or considering the need to keep some doors locked makes you uncomfortable or causes you great fear, that doesn't mean that you have lesser faith than another. Neither does arguing that doors should be left unlocked prove that you have greater faith. You just likely have a different calling.
Do what God has called you to do. Do what He has prepared you to do without stifling the work that your brother has been call to do.
1 Corinthians 12:12-31(ESV)
"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts.
Stop blaming the Feds for not notifying everyone about terrorist activities. I work terrorism for 15 years with the JTTF. We very rarely alerted churches or other business unless we could prove they was a confirmed threat to them. There thousands of religious places in the USA and the Feds can’t let everyone know. We also didn’t always let cops know what we were doing in their areas.
Calm down, take a breath. We have enough to be alert about from day to day that I feel telling us about incidents in other countries and other states just leaves us with too much to worry about! How about sticking to local/Idaho concerns. Afterall that is all we can really address if and when something happens or is about to! God bless and try to relax, you can't control everything and always remember, God's got us!

Other than prayers what can you do from Idaho to help Utah let alone Mozambique. Keith is good, at times however he has a "sky is falling, everything is a threat" attitude. The sky ain't falling in our little safe corner of the world!
Brother, you know that we send people from Idaho to Mozambique right? You know how many missionaries we have from Idaho and Mozambique? This Christians are we not commanded to help other Christians?
Re: your first sentence, inform others if, as and when appropriate. I discuss these kinds of things with my fellow RSO's while at the range, as I was yesterday and will tomorrow. Moreover, I discuss them with my family and friends, incl fellow congregants. The kinds of attackers elsewhere either are here already or on their way, one way or another. recently, my church parking lot experienced a slow drive thru with the passenger videoing; they cursed us and sped off when confronted. Our little town is relatively safe and we don't think the sky is falling, but we are vigilant and relatively well-informed. Just as most CCW's don't think EVERYONE is a threat, it's possible SOMEONE might be a threat. Anyway, take care and be well. Happy Sunday!
Lord Jesus, please protect our brothers and sisters in Nigeria!!

Each of us can take or leave what we will from Keith’s content. There’s no compulsion.
