Keith why is no one suggesting that these high profile folks put a drone up in the air to scan the roof tops? I am not security expert but it seems that getting a drone off Amazon and having someone fly it over any nearby rooftops would be a good idea to look for shooters. Am I missing something?
I fly a drone for my church security. A commercial organization (Kirk’s organization or the University) must use an FAA Part 107 Certified UAS pilot for this purpose. It is more than buying a drone and putting it up.

I fear that we are in a period of spiritual darkness and Charlie’s assassination will only embolden others who are under demonic influence.

Then what’s left of us morally, how is Christ exalted in your statement? We are to be prepared and ready to defend. We are not in a physical war, but against spiritual wickedness in high places. We are in a time to be ready to meet the Lord, so set yourself and family in order to meet the Lord. Take this time grow spiritually and be more dependent on the Holy Spirit, rather than self, strength, pride, or bullets.
Jeff, I get that people are sick of being punching bags, but when lone wolves are doing the attacking you won't find them. The lefties that are inciting violence are hoping someone reacts violently. They win if we initiate attacks. They bring us down to their moral godlless corruption.

Your choice of the adjective "meek" is interesting. Meekness is not weakness. To be meek is to have the strength to fight back, but to control that strength.
Think of an adult being assaulted by a three-year old. The adult has the strength to severely hurt or even kill the child, and some, sadly, do. However the rational adult uses their strength to prevent the child from being hurt by restraining them. That's meekness.

Keith, do you have a hunch why there seemed to be no exit hole? No spray behind? Was the assassin using highly-frangible ammo, or did the spine stop it, or what? For any centerfire hunting round, wouldn't we expect an exit? You've been around an incident or two, and might have some insight. I doubt the medical results will be released to the public, or when/where would we look for those details to be released?
Well, we didn’t see an exit, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t one. I doubt they were using very good ammunition and could’ve sailed right through and you wouldn’t have known. Not not every hit causes a massive exit wound like a hollow point. Or it could’ve just gone straight down and traveled along his spine down into his body. We won’t know until there is an autopsy. In the meantime, we shouldn’t read into it.

Keith, I wonder if you can comment on this question. It appears that Charlie was shot in the chest. I noticed that his shirt jumped at the impact and was drawn upward. It's only a fraction of a second. You tube channel Redacted mentioned late yesterday that Charlie was wearing body armor, and that the bullet struck his chest and was deflected upwards into his neck. From your experience, could this be true? Body armor would explain a lot.

It would be a very rare event and could only happen with steel plates, right on the corner. But a 90° turn defies reality. Did spalling kill Charlie? When I wore steel, I added anti-spalling on top and shock absorption underneath. Now I wear poly. If the projectile hit ceramic or poly plates that same corner, it would have rounded off the corner and deflected only slightly. Just my opinion.

If you look up "spalling of bullet on metal plate" you should be able to find plenty of good hits. It's a genuine risk, as the spalled fragments can hit your neck and injure you badly, even mortally. That's why anti-spalling layers should go on top of steel plates. But the hit on Charlie appeared to be more directly front to back, as in a direct bullet hit from the front.
