Keith, very much appreciate your take on LDS security. And I agree. However, it seems that wherever you mention LDS incidents you have to include that you disagree with the theology. We are followers of Christ and you need to get over your personal problems and stick to helping us with our security issues.
My remaining family is LDS. And one thing that came to me while watching Keith is from Luke 22. Some of the Lord's disciples were concerned about safety as they went out to minister. The Lord said to them: "Sell your robe and buy a sword." As a 19 year firearms instructor I told my students to always be ready; "Locked and loaded"...and with much practice.
The Mormon bible has had uncountable revisions over the years. I received a news letter for several years from a lady in Salt Lake. Her lineage went back I believe, to Brigham Young. She left the LDS church not long after doing her own lineage study. The Founders were interesting to say the least.
I love my remaining family much, but my brother, also one who goes out frequently to talk to folks about the LDS church, lives in El Paso. Citizens are well armed...but El Paso in right smack on the border.
I wonder if the LDS is rethinking their policy on no armed members given the emerging trend.

I think Keith is clarifying that he is focusing on the handling of threats, not picking a theological fight.

That is a wrong assumption. Not all accommodate or are sympathetic
