This Bible study is for men and women who have carried the sword in service to others and now want to understand their past, their wounds, and their standing before God through the truth of Scripture.
Keith, we met in Burleson a few months ago. I am a retired Firefighter Paramedic, with 27 years at the FD. I did another 3 as a contractor for the State Department in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have not "seen it all," but I have seen enough. Like you, people don't see the part of me that hurts and weeps inside for what we have seen, and sometimes for what we have done. It took an addiction, a good wife, and the love of God to get me where I am today. Thank you for this bible study. I look forward to it.
As a retired LEO, I know that what you just said was from the heart as wells as your own experience. No classroom can teach what you have experienced. Now, as a a bible teacher both in the church and in the prisonsand jails, I have seen both sides of the coin, not at teh same time but know both. The Lord is the only solution to these issues and certianly the time we live in. Thanks for putting this together Keith.
Retired State Trooper. I appreciate the sincere calling in your writing and the understanding as a brother in blue. Many times the military veteran gets to leave the battlefield, a LEO does not, we live in the same battlefield that we served. God Bless all the warriors that carried the sword.
This bible study is exactly what this community needs. I look forward to studying with you.
In addition, there is a resource called Stronghold Alliance, founded by Rev. Todd Peter a retired Navy Seal. For more information see their website https://strongholdalliance.org/
This ministry was founded to provide members of this community with treatment for TBI and PTSD at no cost, as well as pointing them to Christ.
I would encourage anyone on the thread to search Substack for Stronghold Alliance Journal.
I was a cook on my Navy ship during Nam. Became a believer then. Each day I knew it could be my last but knew God had me. I have met few real men in churches. I see veterans and seniors ignored at church. Only feminine men accepted.
Keith the Lord has spoken through you to me. Retired this past October from 26 years in law enforcement and corrections. The Lord has led me to serve in my church in safety, ministry and whatever the Lord needs me to do. I need to deal with the retired aspect and as well with pent up anger with the times and my career. I really want to take part in this journey the Lord has given us. God bless and can't wait to start. Please tell me how to join up.
Ivan Vias 23 yrs NJ Transit Police and 3 years NJ State Corrections.
I haven't seen the things you're talking about but I still would like to do the Bible study. Maybe it will help me be able to help others. Thank you for doing this. God Bless you !
Keith, because of you, I GENTLY suggested to one of my fellow RSO's this afternoon that he may want to return to church, I don't care which one (turns out we went to different Catholic HS's in SFO back when they were truly Catholic). I told him I'll check on him in a month. BTW, he'd be a great Security Team member. Hope he comes to my parish. Thank God for you Keith.

I am really looking forward to this study Keith. I can see the Lord working through you in his kingdom! Thanks for answering his call.

Thank you, brother. I am both a veteran and a retired cop. 100% the cops have it worse than the veterans.
God bless you for starting this substack.

Sorry to hear that. Thankfully, at my parish, the real men are abundant, as are the women who appreciate them. True Christianity isn't for the weak.
Thanks my dear brother Keith, I do really needed it. I do appreciate your efforts.
God bless you
