Keith, I just retired from a local Sheriff's department in Indiana last year. All together I had 38 years in law enforcement, with a lot of those years working drugs. I was fortunate to spend several years as a task force officer with the DEA. I have been suffering with trigeminal neuroglia, starting well over 20 years ago. I think I have had all the procedures they have except the surgery you had. I had the procedure do an ablation on the fifth nerve and numb it. I had success for three years and it came back. Had it done the second time and it did not work. Now I'm on the maximum dose of two medications. Like you the medication really slows me down but it's better than the pain. I'm not complaining the good Lord has certainly blessed me just hate the disease. You will get adjusted to the medication after time so it gets a little better, but I worked along time battling it, but you will plow thru. Love your podcast and the survival dispatch you do too. You are serving in an area that is needed and it's what you were called to do. It seems like we have a lot in common and I just wanted to reach out. If you ever need to talk just reach out.

That's a storied career! You have a lot to be proud of. I teach cops, still, in counter narcotic investigations. I've been running across more than just a few narcs that have TN. Some got it from dental procedures, but a lot of the ones I come across can't explain how they got it. I explain to them about a recent study linking a certain virus to initiating TN (I believe that's where mine came from). Many are recollecting that they were sick with a virus prior to getting TN. It makes you wonder.
