A masked gunman entered an Alabama church and lined men against a wall. This video breaks down what happened and the practical steps churches can take to stay safe.
I lead a Safety Team in San Francisco. No one has a Concealed Carry Permit. As you probably know, it is virtually impossible to get a Permit here. It would be great if we had an active or retired LE Officer in our congregation, but we don't. We have non-lethal strategies only. And we have a great building that allows for some protection. How can churches like ours be better protecting our congregation, without "ABC"s?
I would hope that no one responded to the threat because after all factors were considered, it was not a viable option (number of men attending, age, physical capability of the group). However, once they were told to get on their knees and face the wall, a response would almost be necessary. I’m glad that it worked out regardless and no one was seriously injured.
Thank you for encouraging me to get my manix 10x out and practice, I've been slacking.
I set out to memorize the Sermon on the mount. I thought that would be easy. I thought that having that in my head at all times would be powerful. But to memorize it I had to understand it and practice it. It took me a year and a half to memorize and study Matthew chapter 5. I still fall down on many of these points. Now I'm memorizing Matthew chapter 6. It is just like a Bible reading plan, which starts in January. When I have done that life has a way of throwing (stuff) at you, and a Bible verse will come to mind.
Ask in prayer for the Holy Spirit to explain whatever to you.
Another reason why I quit drinking alcohol three and a half years ago and I don't do drugs. I don't want anything on my chart that might suggest that I don't have a clear head at all times. Someone long ago explained the "Warrior's Edge " Situational awareness is the key. Left of Bang.
Didn't any of those men wonder how the robber was going to know if they didn't wait the 5 minutes before calling police?
I'm sorry but free men don't ask permission..better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6...
Slaves ask permission
Same thing my husband says. You in law enforcement, too? 😊

Find a friend in stanislaus county and use their address to get a CCW there. Just my two cents. The. You need the church to buy off on it.
I learned from your lesson as I always do. I think you do a great job with the scriptures also. Thank you for teaching us ❤️
The cameras are nothing but evidence, if no one is actively monitoring them. Someone should be on cameras anytime there is a gathering at the church.
Install an intercom that rings to a group of cell phones.
Good write up Thanks Shared with church folks
I take it that no one was carrying a concealed weapon??
