With more than a decade of research on these events, I struggle with why educators and church leaders do not recognize these individuals as they reach “critical mass” and intervene. How do we get them to “want” to be part of the solution and seek the training necessary to stop these events? I also have not heard much discussion on if the individuals killed were specifically targeted. Were they the initial victims and the others random collateral damage of the untrained and deranged subject?
