Most businesses have something like the barriers you describe. I know and ice cream place with outside seating near where I used to live was told to put up something to keep cars from hitting people seated enjoying their ice cream. A nice landscape planter wall made out of paver stones and concrete with rebar would do wonders to stop someone and least slow it down. Speaking of those planters at the ice cream store they’ve been hit many times just by careless drivers and worked only person hurt was the driver. Just some FYI and thoughts.
KEITH- I thought it might interest you to know that one of your paid subscribers was a ‘high-level graduate’ of Sullivan’s Island Elementary! But as a paid subscriber, I have been trying to reach friends and family for years about how these MANY and VARIOUS threats ARE coming to a town near you. People, please hear me: from the RURAL community in AZ where the GOD-fearing Pastor experienced a Crucifixion-execution, to my ole tiny island town of Sullivan’s, the patterns are the same. By design, the next hit could be metro-Detroit, or Elle, NE. Sullivan’s Island is extremely tiny and peaceful upper white-collar; although when I received my education there with the cute little island girls in the 70’s, it was Jimmy Buffet blue / white collar laid back. If it can happen there, trust me, y’all ‘could be next’! FREE ADVICE? EDUCATE- which should lead you to PREPARATION; that can lead you to TRAINING (with learned discipline); Training should engage your brain as much as your body and your kinetic reflexes, which should cause you to BACK UP. At this point most will have blown past that you need to specifically engage your family and your community. Help them prepare MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, and SPIRITUALLY for what is inevitably coming! And listen to Keith 😘
Hey Keith, always enjoy your professional expertise , training, and protocols involving church security and always backing it up with God’s words in scripture!!! Have a great time in New Zealand! 🙏👍😎
Our church is small, and located in a strip mall type building. I always encourage our members to fill all of the parking spots close to the storefront glass out by the parking lot. Great article, thanks for continuing to share content to teach us how to protect our flocks!
Thanks for the security tips. My church works closely with the police and firefighters on these plans and I’m grateful for their partnership with us. And, of course, some of us are always armed. As well as pagers on our deacons in the lobby.
Beautiful scenery in New Zealand, for sure. I'm happy for you, my brother, that you can find a place of tranquility like that. Here in Texas, I am still trying to motivate my safe eyes and ears brothers to do the protection we ought to have in each service. Our congregation is tiny, but since we are a Jewish Messianic Congregation, the same kind the disciples were to the L-rd, Jewish believers believing in their Jewish Messiah. We must act ASAP due to the hatred and acts of violence and cruelty against the believers of our Jewish Messiah, Yeshua (Means Salvation, and was the name given by his earthly parents). The Christian brethren call him Jesus. The idea of the side bolds disguised as decorations is good, but I also thought of speed bumps from the road leading to the entrance. The emphasis should be on the locked entrance door during our services. G-d bless, and always remember my A, B, C's...
At the HoW I provide security for, there are bollards, and boulders in the landscaping. We also have a gate at the entrance. And armed security whenever services / religious education events are on. At a range training last year we practiced shooting from and into cars - for the hopefully never to happen vehicle attack. This latest one is, sadly, good “PR” for church security.
We have pole barriers so they cant plow a truck thru but smaller vehicles could come thru them - this gives us something to think about if the threat analysis indicates this investment is necessary
Keith, too many churches including mine don't think this will happen at our church. The church staff don't even want to talk about it or invest any money to protect against this type of threat...it is sad because they only will invest AFTER it happens. Be blessed
Oftentimes these wanna-be killers seem to use a prior mental health visit as a defense for a later attack on innocents. It's NOT "innocent by reason of insanity", it's "guilty but insane".

Thanks for your great work, Keith.
We have tried to warn our churches to put something like concrete planters in front of our main entrance but they won't listen. Very frustrating.
