Keith,

Great info.

I wanted to respond to your first message last Sunday but wasn't able to. Following our own service, I tuned in to Fox News to see what was happening. They had of course a talking head in split screen with a commentator. The individual being questioned was a representative of the FBI, the questioned was asked about the everyday parishioner carrying a firearm and his answer pretty much followed what the LDS Church had stated concerning firearms in their buildings and on their property. I was born and raised in the LDS church, I am no longer a follower since giving my life to Jesus. But I have many family members who are LDS, I sent your substack message to some of them, I know they viewed them as they commented on them, some even subscribed to substack as well as The Christian Warrior. May the Lord Bless You and Your Ministry in Amazing Ways.

Based on glaring doctrinal differences, I would also opine that LDS adherents are NOT Christians. They deny the DIETY of Jesus Christ and teach that Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) are spirit bros! PURE HERESY!!!!

Actually, those LDS teachings that I mentioned are unfortunately taught. I only commented about Bobby Charlton's candid comments and I wanted to affirm his thoughts.

Do your own research before you become apologist for the LDS church. There are many more heretical teachings espoused by the LDS. Don't get me started!

It is good that people glean tips from CHRISTIANwarriortraining.com, but understand the ministry title. Sorry Keith, if I upset some of your LDS subscribers!?

LDS deny the DIETY of Jesus Christ and are therefore a cult and antichrist in their beliefs and teachings.

We do not deny God, but we do not suscribe to the Catholic teaching of the trinity which, by the way, is not followed by many "acceptable" cristians. To deny others to follow Christ according to their own understanding, is itself unchristian and ironic coming from protestants (who are by definition Heretics themselves according to those who dreamt up the trinity idea hundreds of years after Christ.)

The LDS Church is just like the JW’s, a group of people with serious issues! When I was young a JW told me that only the devil carry guns! I was like, so you’re saying that police officers are the devil? lol 😂 🤣🤣🤣 ridiculous!

Fan the flames of hatred and spread lies, how very Christian of you. Purported JW member says only devil carries guns, you decide JW members have issues, therefore LDS Church and JW members believe police officers are the devil. I am both a retired police officer, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - a Christian.

Calm down there chief, don’t you have a bingo game to go to? I was sharing a story ( real one ) about the JW’s and how your church are much like them, I based that on personal experiences and thus I am expressing my opinion, being a retired cop, you may have heard of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution! Unless, of course you were sleeping while they were teaching basic constitutional rights at the academy.

As the old saying goes, truth hurts! If it didn’t, you wouldn’t have bother to reply and accuse me “spreading lies and fanning the flames of hatred “

You stop short of calling it “ hate speech “ as ignorant liberal propaganda tries to silence speech they don’t like.

Just becuse you crack a joke before you attack others doesnt make it okay.

Truth is, i dont agree with jw's on some things. Baptists on other things, etc...because i am me. Distilled down, we are all heretics because we are all a little different. Christs own deciples often didnt see eye to eye with the savior. But he didnt call them heretics, he loved them! And THAT, is how we ought to be...if'n we wanna be like Him.

Since when is telling a truthful story and one’s own opinions an “ attack” do you work for google or FB or the communist party, where expressing opinions is a crime? Especially, opinions that differ from your own!

Last time I checked, we still live in a free country! Get over yourself and your sensibilities, we’re in a public forum where others are allowed to express their views and opinions without the communist party controlling everything.

I will not surrender my God given right to protect myself and my family. I am a LDS member in good standing. There is no mortal that can supersede that right. What the church leadership is doing is caving to lawyer talk and possible legal repercussions. Not prophecy. We are required to obey the laws of the land on one hand, but not given the right to protect ourselves under the same law. Its ridiculous and hypocritical. I am a retired warrant officer and former deputy sheriff. I have carried for decades at all our church functions. Members know it. local leaders have known it. I am even more committed since I met Keith.

One thing to remember...the right to life is frrom God. No law of the land or statement feom the church, can take that away.

Another excellent article.

I wouldn't have obeyed the stupidity of church decision-makers (I won't refer to them as Leaders, because they're not).

I'd have exercised my 2nd Amendment rights and concealed carry.

It’s time for all churches to be armed. Story by Elisha Krauss, Washington Examiner

This is not a new idea. For years, pro-Second Amendment and situational aware citizens have been increasingly raising the alarm on the risks of Christians gathering in the nation. Given the most recent mass shootings at places of worship, we need to act now. There is a rally cry throughout the nation since the death of Charlie. The approach here in Gig Harbor Washington is churches are having Army veterans teach churches self defense.

There’s too much focus on debating the LDS faith. In reality, what they believe isn’t the issue—the mission is security and safety. The same applies to any congregation, whether Muslim, Baptist, Catholic, or otherwise. Unfortunately, the LDS faith often draws unnecessary criticism and hostility. On a separate note, some wards have created their own armed security teams, but this goes against established policy and guidance. When it comes to protecting yourself and your congregation, you can’t rely solely on leadership. Safety must be a personal decision. Along with protecting others.

As a current member in good standing with the church, their decision to ban firearms from their buildings bothered me then and bothers me more even now. While I may be one of the few who are allowed to carry in the building, I can’t be there all the time. I don’t understand the leadership decision, nor do I think it will be changed. As a side note, members of this group come from all walks - we can agree to disagree on our beliefs, but disparaging or mocking comments about another’s religion shouldn’t be tolerated. Maybe I just read something wrong. My $.02

Look it all up. Whatever you call your organization, it teaches heretical doctrine. If you are unaware of your own teachings, please educate yourself. If your comments are not from ignorance, then please repent and be saved. According to the LDS, the Book of Mormon is "most correct" and "keystone" of the LDS faith. The Book of Mormon serves as "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" per church teachings.

Mormons are seemingly very "nice folks", BUT with very bad doctrine.

Read Revelation 22:18 for some more direction.

We are all brothers. We are all quite literally Gods children. (To be clear Jeaus is His only Begotten Son.) Satan is our brother too. And just like in mortal life, we have some brothers we hang out with, and some we just keep our distance from because they are full of hate.

Keith,

Besides combative skills, what can we do here in California when our church is in a school? The failed government here has stripped our ability to defend ourselves in church when we are at our most vulnerable.

I left the LDS church completely about 6 years ago. I was raised in the Church and had been what LDS call Inactive for a couple decades. I had gone back to Church and had several callings. My turning point was a combination of being asked to use my vacation time to fulfill a calling during the week, and when I was in the hospital with a cardiac event nobody from the church was there to support me. I was told sacrificing a few days vacation was a small sacrifice compared to the sacrifice made by church leaders. The calls and emails from the hospital were not answered for over a week. When I sent an email asking to be released from my callings in the Church, I got a response in less than 20 minutes.

The class distinction between the members and the leadership was made clear after that. I am not surprised they have armed security provided for Church leaders, while forbidding members from carrying. They should learn from the Book of Mormon story of the Ammonites. (A group of Native Americans or Lamanites who converted and foreswore any violence and arms. They became victims of violence, and their children were trained by a Nephite to defend them)

Shortly there after how the Church would talk up the sacrifice Mission Presidents, Quorum of the Seventy, and above were giving so much by volunteering, and then finding out they are given a budget to cover their expenses, pay for Christmas presents for their grandkids, and things like flying their children, children's spouses, grandchildren, grandchildren's spouses, and greatgrandchildren out to the mission field for Christmas.

True hypocrisy is what it sounds like to me. Armed details for the leadership, while "have faith and good luck" is what you get for your tithe and offering. Hmm, sounds oddly familiar though..........

I am lds and live in the bible belt. I love my baptist (mostly) friends and neighbors. They dont worship quite the same as me but thats okay. I wouldnt call them heretics for being different.

Ive asked many of my friends here if their church has a security team/plan. 100% say no. So should i go on and on about how stupid they are and how they be all heretics Because they aint fallin in line? Thats just silly. God made us all with free will. We are all different!

Btw...the term "HERETIC" was used (to great affect) to squash any variation from whatever dogma held sway in any reining government. Protestants literally protested on specific dogmas. Very heretical i suppose. Except i dont think of it that way. Im grateful for their tolerance and forward thinking. It is quite literally what this nation was founded upon.

Excellent analysis, Keith. Thank you for continuing to share your wisdom in these difficult times. I am thankful for a church that cares and is training congregants. We have unique challenges in protecting our congregation. But we are working on it - together with church leadership - and are committed to stay vigilante. I share your wisdom with the men training and they enjoy your insight. Please stay the course and Godspeed.

Trusting in an immediate police presence is a great mistake. The police are not omnipresent and they can’t be in all places immediately and at the same time. That church doesn’t care about their people
