As others may defend the country and we defend the body of Christ as did Peter in days of old. Christ did say if we live by the sword we die by it. Thats a statement of loyalty and ultimate liability. We are not to rebel we only defend by deterrence, observing and reporting. If we have to act, we do so with full training and professional development. With a sense of responsibility and respect for authority we maintain vigilance to ensure we don't repeat things like they experience in Nigeria here in the USA. I personally will not stand by in the arena of this life and see the lions behead my family if I can act and stand in the way. My prayer over my sword always is for life not death. For deterrence not mayhem. Heros pay the price as did the Christ our Lord and savior. You're still a hero in my book for your service I thank you and everybody willing to stand up to media bullies that run to a safe place rather than stand.
Just in case. Know how to give care relationally and medically short and long term in the right heart and mindset because ambiguous grief and reactive abuse in the midst of or afterwards are bad and bears to deal with.
Like police but with only a citizen's authority we must remain aware of our limitations. We must be willing to go the extra mile. It would be best if we as church security were a approved franchise.
That is true however I am also referring to our position as husband and father in the family caregiver role in the aftermath if our family has been affected.
