Keith, I suggest you consider informing your audience of the likely greatest terrorist risk to the USA. That is a coordinated armed attack on key transformer stations in our 3 power grids (Eastern, Western & Texas). All it would take is a near simultaneous attack on less than a dozen of the over 55,000 transformer stations in the USA. I am also a former career sworn LEO from a border state, having served in numerous divisions, including SWAT, Gang Unit, Patrol & Aviation. I also served on the Y2K task force in my former state, so the power grid has been on my radar since 1999. I have done a lot of research in this area and have numerous contacts with expertise in this area. The bottom line is a group consisting of less than a platoon could attack our power grid, cause a cascading failure that would take our country back to the 1800’s in less than a few minutes & this would be likely to last for many months, if not for years. Dr. Peter Pry, who was chair of the federal EMP Task force has stated that upwards of 90% of the country would be dead in less than a year. Our electric substations are not actively protected. Fences, signs & cameras won’t stop a coordinated armed attack, & these bad actors don’t have to be trained, skilled operators. Yes. An attack on our grid and cyber infrastructure seems the most likely event to precede roving African style hit squads in our neighborhoods.
These so called "hit squads" deff wouldn't gget far. Like I stated above, "Behind every blade of grass".
