Thank you for the excellent vital commentary which teaches us all regardless of our roles, and the BIBLICAL references with brief exposition on them. Beautiful.
Defend the defenseless...
It was a shock to read the quoted words of the man; "If I can't have you, no one will (or can)." The very words the man who attempted to kidnap me a second time said to me right in front of the Deputies. Very scary. I will never forget, and thank GOD for their unbelievably quick response when I screamed to a passing woman to help. 3 Units, 1 Canine in just minutes. A great blessing. ππ«ΆπΌπ«‘ππΌπ
The woman did the perfect move, and a great blessing there are wise self and other trained persons willing to act righteously, and courageously.
God bless you Keith Graves and Family. You are prayed for often. <>< ππΌπ Wisdom.
At our church, we have 2 Watchmen patrolling the parking lots in a golf cart with a radio. In addition, we have a uniformed Sheriff's deputy patrolling the parking lots and the church perimeter. The deputy uses one of our radios to communicate with the Watchmen in the golf cart and the Watchmen located inside the church.
Another reason to have a team member at the parking lot is to ensure those with canes, walkers wheelchairs, limited vision and limited hearing can cross the lot safely between the sanctuary and their cars. We help folks like that every week.
We have had some difficulty obtaining this type of Intel. I have had to use various different methods to gather this type of info. Always looking for more /better avenues for Intel. The best seems to be to try to get to know everyone... Well. Gain their confidence and never give them a reason to think anything they have trusted you with becomes known to other members. Model Christ.
Seems the lady had good instincts by becoming " dead weight ". I pray I never need to make a hostage shot, but, not my will, but, the LORD'S be done....
Has it been mentioned if she shared with the church leadership about the restraining order, if not the safety can't prepare to help her to the fullest it can only react.
We have 2-3 men working the main parking lot and entrance for both services along with 1 armed security guard. All entrances are locked and manned except the main entrance is unlocked but continuously manned. Foyer and sanctuary have armed security and all children ministry staff are trained in what to do in an emergency.

Our church does the same, except we are on foot. The presence of a LEO greatly enhances the deterrence factor

Great advice. Thank you for the input. I pray that we never have to go through anything like that, but we need to train for it just the same.

Do you find that church people are willing to come forward to let the church know they have a restraining order on someone?
Yes. Depending on how willing the church is to help people in crisis.
The family turned over a pellet gun. The officials are "still working" to confirm it to be the weapon.
Was it a CO2 powered Glock 19, or what? Perfect disguise to cover a real G19.
Perfect way to die from a REAL G19 with 147grain bullets to the brain!
