A way for defense-averse pastors and elders to nonetheless get started on having a safety team is to have it initially focused on medical issues. Those are more likely than a violent attack, and vastly less controversial to prepare for.

Ushers and greeters can easily also become first responders in dealing with medical issues, and extra sets of eyes and ears to call 9-1-1.

Thank you Keith for continuing to sound the trumpet. Your work is like a stone tossed in the water. You put your information out and the ripple effect continues outward. Your future crown awaits you in glory brother.

We are thankful that our church Faith in SC of which we have 8 to 10 campuses do have security teams in all churches. All comprised of Police officers ex police ex armed forces vets and many years of combined experiences. We pray to God for his hand to steady ours and lean on our life experience to deal with each event that comes to us. Thanks for all the vast knowledge you share.. we listen.

Our Lord also said: "I will lay down My life for my sheep".... as one who started our security team at our church some years ago...I took His words seriously. We're in a large open tent in the summer, in the high mountains of Colorado on a lake, we get thousands of visitors all summer long. We've had viable threats in the past...so far none, but our team is vigilant and patrolling constantly. Any attack can come from any place.

how many pray that their trip will be safe but prepare by putting gas and fluids in the vehicle? how many have a fire extinguisher in their home and hope to never have to use it? our church is very small but we have a prepared team, we limit access, we have discussed likely scenarios, and the pastor (who faces the door while preaching) knows that the single word -gun- will start the action. We believe GOD is in control all the time and HE has given us abilities and intelligence to prepare for evil acts. To evil, a church building is just a building with a density of soft targets like a mall or school or parade. Be prepared and pray you will never have to act. But be prepared. The test is not graded on a curve. It's instant pass or fail.

Add Isaiah 56: 10 and 11

10 Israel’s watchmen are blind,

they all lack knowledge;

they are all mute dogs,

they cannot bark;

they lie around and dream,

they love to sleep.

11 They are dogs with mighty appetites;

they never have enough.

They are shepherds who lack understanding;

they all turn to their own way,

they seek their own gain.

Last comment. We see this come alive at Crosspoint Church, Wayne, Michigan, on a quiet Sunday morning:

"...Out of every one-hundred men they send me, eighty of them are nothing but targets. ten of them shouldn't even here. Ten of them are real fighters. But one of theme is a real warrior and I must find him, because HE will bring the others back..." Heraclitus Warrior Speech by Dr. Paul Whitesell Here it is.

Thank you Keith, for addressing the violence deniers, I believe they have cowardly spirits. They probably don't even preach a true gospel to their flock. They have no sense of responsibility to their flock. They are just hirelings.

I believe God will judge them very harshly for their behavior especially, if there is an attack in their church body. They will have no excuse for their passiveness.

Some may judge me harsh in my comments, But maybe that's what's needed to provoke these poltroons to action, in protecting God's people.

Thank you brother Keith ❤️

Found my self shedding a few tears today. Not because of being discouraged but crying because I love my church family so much and would do anything to stand between them and an attacker.

Tyler, THANK YOU for being so intimate and a real team member.

I dread the day. That day. The day. Like some of you, I have seen far too much in almost 5 decades. I've taken all my TTP, skills HE has led me to become and devoted it all to THIS mission field. Most have ignored it, discounted. The places I left because of it. In Jeremiah the Watchmen were mocked and ignored. We serve The Almighty, Period.

Because of your ministry our church is upgrading our security little by little as the Lord leads us. May the Lord bless you and give you strength and peace for the task ahead. Love you brother! Stay strong and stay safe! 🙏🏼👍❤️

Thank you Keith! I share your view of defending the flock. It's very difficult to get people motivated to take the necessary steps. But my Pastor takes this topic very seriously, Thank God.

I have given up at being in church on Sunday. The most important thing for any of them is to welcome the LGBTQ+ mob into the place, and oh, no! no guns to defend yourself or the congregation. Makes me sick. Like being in the waiting room of a mortuary. Christianity is on life support in America.
