Hey Keith, can you find out from this officer what specific conversation he had with the subject that caused the subject to give up his gun? Did he notice printing or see part of the gun? I read more about it and he did an awesome job. Curious about his tactics. Thanks much for all you do.

Our church is not that large, located in a large city. Our Parking lot is shared with a busy Mall. We have only one entrance which is a very good funnel. We have several posts: Lead, Delta Post (Front Door), Alpha Post (Auditorium), Papa Post (Pastor watch), and Rover(s) if we have the staff.

Thank you Keith. I grew up in Sacramento and have served in the Marines, as a cop, and on a church security team. Your words resonated with me. So glad that the detective stopped the potential bad guy from entering the church. I know the same would have happened at my church!

They said that I was selling guns in a video. I can guarantee you I was not selling guns.

Ridiculous!! These cowards know no boundaries to their lies and malevolence!

I too have also been suspended multiple times for dubious reasons like making threats but when I asked them to show me the evidence and who was threatened, they could never prove anything! That’s why I will never be a paid subscriber to them or any of their affiliates or any other google owned business.

I live in Sacramento area and this doesn’t surprise me at all!

Great debrief. As we all know, debriefs hold us accountable and create growth. Thank you.

So glad this off duty LEO was at the right place & time! I'm assuming he just arrested that guy when he discovered the gun. Can me & my team make a citizens arrest if we discover the same person? Was this guy trying to get in through locked doors before he encountered the detective? Was this LEO part of a bigger security team or was he solo?

Squeezing the wisdom out of this lesson!

Keith, you did a GREAT job with this one...one of your best! I love that he did so much "right" and how you broke it down. Thank you for weaving in scripture so well, I sometimes struggle with transition from scripture/devotion to training lesson. Thank you for all you offer us.

Thank you Kieth once again for bringing this very important information to us. As part of our licensed armed security team I am outside at the main entrance for both services plus various times in between. Praying that I have the discernment and wisdom to intercede any potential threats like this fine officer. 👮 We too have layers of protection throughout. Several churches in our area follow you to keep informed. You are a great blessing to us all. 🙏🏼ing for you and your family! 👍❤️

In my thinking church security people hesitate and want to be sure because if there is a defensive shooting, in most cases, according to the police, WE are the bad guys. In my state (Colorado) unless it is a case of the Castle Doctrine, a defender, even if 100% right is going to be arrested and jailed.

The likelihood that you will spend some amount of in jail and possibly the one bleeding out on the floor is something that should be thought out and accepted before you put on your gun. Nothing wrong with if you're not at that place, but when you decide to carry a gun and be a defender that is what you are facing and should be prepared for.

I accepted that reality when I volunteered for our church security. I have ccw insurance also. I guess my point was that our system is completely backwards.
