Finding a quality shooting drill to put yourself through can be tough to find. At Christian Warrior Training, we have been doing shooting drills with SWAT, narcotics, and other assignments to hone our skills. We will share those drills for you when we have time.

National Asset Shooting Drill

This is actually a qualification course for teams deemed as a "national asset." I picked up this drill during a SWAT competition in Northern California about 15 years ago when some of those “national asset” teams were training at the same location as us. I use it often to check my speed and accuracy throughout the years.

Christian Warrior Training is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

For this drill, you will need an AR15 type of rifle (you could really use any modern combat rifle) and a semi-automatic pistol. You will also need to wear your kit including helmet, plate carrier and comms equipment if you have it. The times to shoot are tight

.

What you need for this drill:

  1. Shooters will need 1 magazine with 28 rounds (in rifle), 1 magazine with 22 rounds secured in magazine pouch, and 2 targets

  2. all drills start from the low ready

  3. if you experience a malfunction; transition and engage target

  4. always know the condition of your weapon

  5. highest score possible is 100, 80 points to pass

  6. complete CQB/assault gear will be worn

  7. totals are per man

  8. 2 points in the kill zone, 1 point on target, 0 points for miss

After doing this drill, come back here and let us know what you think.
