Assault on Church Worker in New York City
A church worker in New York City was critically injured after his throat was slashed by an individual he confronted for urinating on a car. The incident occurred on January 23, 2024, in front of 404 East 14th Street, near the Immaculate Conception Church. The 66-year-old victim, identified as a caretaker at the church, asked the man to stop urinating on the vehicle when the assailant, wielding a box cutter, attacked him, causing severe laceration and bleeding. The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large. Emergency services transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. The NYPD is conducting an ongoing investigation and seeks information from the public regarding the incident. (This is the second incident involving a box cutter and an attack on a church worker.
